How we work out the cheapest
- Total cost is every fee due to get funded: the entry fee plus any fee charged on passing. A monthly plan counts one month.
- Prices are list prices before discount codes, in the currency the firm charges. Euro and pound prices are converted to dollars only to rank them; the rates are on the methodology page.
- Cheapest is not easiest. Compare the profit target, loss limits and drawdown type on each account page, or see Topstep's Trading Combine (No Activation Fee) for an example.
Cheapest futures prop firms: questions
What is the cheapest futures prop firm?
For a $100K account, Topstep's Trading Combine (No Activation Fee) at $149 a month, counting every fee due to get funded at list price. Next come Lucid Trading ($158) and FTMO Futures ($169 a month).
Why do you rank by total cost, not the entry fee?
Some firms charge a small entry fee and a larger fee when you pass, before the funded account is issued. Ranking by the entry fee alone would put those firms first. On this list, Phidias Propfirm, Earn2Trade, Take Profit Trader, Elite Trader Funding charge a fee on passing at $100K. The cheapest account with no fee on passing is Topstep's Trading Combine (No Activation Fee) at $149 a month.
Is the cheapest challenge the best value?
Not always. A cheaper account can ask for more profit for each unit of loss it allows, or use a trailing drawdown that is harder to manage. Topstep's Trading Combine (No Activation Fee) asks for 2.00 times its max loss in profit across its phases. Compare the targets, loss limits and drawdown type on each account page before you buy.
Do discount codes change the order?
They can. Prices here are list prices before any code, so the order stays comparable. Where a firm advertises a code it is shown in the table; the checkout shows the final price.
